Our Second Mile Giving ministry partner for May is Mt. Cross Lutheran Outdoor Ministries. The camp, founded in 1948, has 100 acres of coastal redwoods and is dedicated to "providing profound experiences in God's creation." It is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Ben Lomond, CA.
For 73 years, Mt. Cross has been offering summer camps and retreat opportunities for all ages, for individuals, congregations, and groups. In the past year, it has experienced profound impacts by the CZU fire and the Coronavirus and has had to cut back on programs, staffing, etc. Despite these impacts, Mt Cross continues to engage in ministry and is looking forward to expanding its programs. This summer, it is looking forward to offering its "All Family Camp, All the Time" program.
