This summer, San Francisco Night Ministry is filled with joy and gratitude as we celebrate the ordinations of two beloved leaders:  Rev. Benjamin DeShazo-Couchot, SFNM Care Line Directory and Katie Laurence, SFNM Open Cathedral, Tuesday Gathering.

Ben has been ordained through the Interfaith Temple, NY, and Katie through the Evangelical Church in America, with SF Night Ministry’s Open Cathedral as her first call.  Both Ben and Katie are anchors of spiritual care, presence and compassion.  They meet people exactly where they are – whether in crisis, in silence, in joy or in grief.  On the phone or in the street, they continue SFNM’s legacy reminding every person they encounter that they are loved and not alone.

These ordination milestones are not just personal celebrations – they’re a moment for all ofus to honor.  Because the truth is, we reach moments like these together.  Every conversation, every act of care, every vulnerable exchange and offering of support has helped buildthe community and ministry that Ben and Kate now carry forward in ordained leadership."
