August 2026 2nd Mile Giving Partner

Pursuing a world without hunger

Our Second Mile Giving partner for the month of

August is Bread for the World. BFTW is a

Christian advocacy organization that urges major

decision makers to do all they can to pursue a

world without hunger. The mission of the BFTW

is “to educate and equip people to advocate for

policies and programs that can help end hunger

in the U.S. and around the world.”

The work of BFTW has grown from founding

roots in 1974 to be a major Christian organization

that advocates effectively for addressing hunger

in the US and in the world. Our Social Ministry

team often uses suggestions drawn from BFTW

for hosting letter writing in postcard writing

events at All Saints Lutheran.
