Our congregation's ministry partner in the Second Mile Giving Program for January is Companion Synods (sometimes known as Sister Synods). We will lift up and pray for the work of ministry in the Lutheran Synods of Rwanda, El Salvador, and Taiwan.
Presently there are about 8,000 Lutherans in Rwanda being led by Bishop Rev. Evalister Mugabo, about 20,000 Lutherans in El Salvador, being led by Rev. Medardo Gomez,
and about 11,400 Lutherans in Taiwan, being led by Rev. Chen Chih-Hung.
Please keep these Sister Synods around the world in your prayers this month and consider an additional offering toward their ministries. The Sierra Pacific Synod is blessed to accompany these churches in mutual ministry as we proclaim God's creative, redeeming and sanctifying love in all the world.
