Our Second Mile Giving Partner for the month of April is Lutheran World Relief. LWR was founded in 1945 by Lutherans in the USA to respond to humanitarian needs. Today LWR reaches millions of people around the world through its programs in emergence operation and sustainable development
Our congregation has been very supportive of LWR over the years, through sending of quilts, school kits, hygiene kits, and financial support through our Second Mile Giving program, and other fund-raising ventures. Please join in again in supporting this important agency that responds to human needs and crises, in our Second Mile Offering in April.
Recently, LWR has undertaken a major campaign to provide assistance to Ukraine. Financial assistance can be given at WLR.org/match. Notable about this campaign is that two congregations (a joint parish) in Wisconsin will match the first $258,000.
